Maria Montessori International Academy (MMIA) is a certified Montessori education program that encourages children to take the journey of independence and provides an empowered classroom where early literacy takes place naturally. MMIA's focuses children's education in music, math, art, social sciences, cultural awareness, as well as Spanish, French and Chinese language.
Many businesses fall into the old practices of design and hosting captivity. MMIA ran into this issue while trying to modernize their website while also trying to draw more attention to their schools. Blend Creative Team was called and helped solve these issues, while modernizing the schools online presence, messageing and engagement rates.
A rebrand always starts with a fresh take on a logo for myself. Giving myself a new way to look over the content of the brand, and developing a style from the logo concept. Here are some variations of the logo design.
The final logo incorporated a stacked M, to symbolize Maria Montessori. The Laurel wreath surrounding the double M symbolizes the triumph. In this case, symbolizing triumph in academic success.
After the logo was completed and agreed upon, I moved into the wireframing stage using UXPin. Each page and all the content fillers were laid out and notes were placed where a writer would come into fill out any content. This helps to speed the design time and understand the content on each page.
Every brand tells a story, and MMIA is no different than the largest brands out there. To keep with a theme of childhood, I choose softer and brighter colors to make the site feel engaging for parents who were searching for a school to educate their children.
The font families were selected to be bold yet modern and clean. A quick look at the selected families are easy to read and quickly digestible.
With all the necessary elements for the pages to be built including photography from actual locations, I set up each page template and ensured all elements were specific for the individual pages.
With the design completed and approved, Blend Creative Team believed the best solution for the school regarding a CMS to use would be a basic theme on Wordpress. Avada was chosen which would give the school endless support if a problem arises.
After all the branding, design, photography and social aspects of MMIA were completed Blend Creative Team helped set up an e-commerce site for the school. The store would help the school purchase shirts for their students for any field trips and special events.
The finishing aspects of the project were to create a brand guide to help give all the staff at the school a clear guideline to follow to ensure brand accuracy across all platforms of media.
